We do our best to retrain racehorses that we have owned or bred. Here are a couple of current examples:
Third produce of Group 1 producing mare, Balladonia. Won the first 2 year old race of the season (The Brocklesby) before going on to be a multiple winner and listed placed runner (Winkfield Stakes). Retired back to Laundry Cottage Stud with ‘Kissing Spine’ and has been retrained as a riding horse and competes in Showjumping and Cross country in Hertfordshire.
Named after being discovered foaled in a paddock over a month prematurely. First foal out of Still Small Voice. She showed much on the gallops but wasn’t able to translate the promise on the racecourse. She has now been rehomed a stone’s throw from the stud and has been retrained as a riding horse to compete at Dressage and Showing.
